| ACADEMIC EDITING is a special field that
requires not only a firm grasp of all the rules of
general editing — grammar, punctuation, spelling,
syntax, word usage etc. — but also of the styles and
formats of academic writing.
WET Ink’s editors have years of experience in
both areas, and we can help you put your painstaking
research in the final form that will be acceptable to
your peers or your committee.
OUR RATES are based on a number of factors that
are determined after reading a sample of your project.
These factors include length, the quality of the
writing, the extent of the revisions and formatting or
reformatting required, and an analysis of your goals. We
will be glad to give you a no-obligation, no-cost
consultation and estimate.
IN ADDITION TO the steps listed on our
editing
page, our academic editing will make sure your
document conforms to the style manual you are using
(such as the APA Publication Manual, The Chicago Manual
of Style, or the MLA Style Manual) as well as your
university’s publication guidelines. (If you are using
another style manual, let us know and we will tell you
if we can follow it.)
WE ALSO will be happy to work with you as your
dissertation or thesis progresses through the various
committee revisions.
WHAT WE CANNOT DO
— We do not write original papers or
portions of papers for students.
— We do not attempt to check facts in
academic documents or change or correct any
factual information without checking with
the author.
— We do not do original research.
— We do not do “math.” We will edit your
words to make sure they say what you want to
say, but we will not check your mathematical
or statistical accuracy.
